Stickies and Other Widgets

Find the perfect widgets for your dashboard, and build widgets of your own to make your dashboard truly unique to you.

My first Mac was a G3 running OS9. I think the feature that I used the most on that computer was "stickies". My desktop was constantly cluttered with multicolored digital post-it notes reminding me to make important phone calls, mail bills etc. The more stickies I wrote however, the more space they took up ultimately taking over my desktop.

Dashboard for OSX has the stickies option as a widget. With Dashboard however you can easily make your stickies disappears with the click of a button.

I wrote an article this week on some of the widgets that come built into OS X Tiger. If you're running Tiger and really want to get crazy with your widgets Apple offers additional free widget downloads (and some paid downloads) on their website. There are literally thousands to choose from, so you truly can make your dashboard yours.

For the really adventurous Mac user Apple has a section of their website devoted to building your very own widgets as well.

I'm always fascinated when I look at other Mac users computers at what widgets they have chosen to include on their personal dashboard. For those of you out there with dashboard, what widgets do you find yourself using on a regular basis? Inquiring mids want to know.
