Mac's are known for their video editing capabilities. If you have an Apple computer and want to edit your own video on you computer you have several program options to choose from. Over the next few weeks I will be taking a look at each program individually. Here is a brief overview of the top 3 video editing programs for Mac.

<p>iMovie

<p>iMovie is a very basic video editing program that is included in the iLife suite of programs. iMovie features drag and drop editing where you simply select clips of your video and drag and drop them in the order you would like. iMovie is very easy to use, and if your new to video editing it is a great place to start. iMovie works alongside Apple's other iLife programs so once your edit your video you can use iDVD to burn a DVD and share your video with friends, or post your video to your blog or webpage.

<p>Final Cut Express

<p>If you want a more advanced editing program than iMovie, but aren't ready to purchase the $1000 Final Cut Pro then Final Cut Express may be for you. Final Cut Express for the most part looks just like Final Cut Pro, the difference lies in the effect options that you have. Final Cut Pro Express can be purchased from any apple retailer or online at the Apple store for $299.

<p>If you are thinking about going professional with your video editing then Final Cut Pro is the premiere video editing program for Mac. Apple recently released a HD version of Final Cut Pro that will allow you not only to professionally edit your video, but do so in HD. Final Cut Pro is also designed to integrate with programs like Motion, Soundtrack, and After Effects to make your videos even professional, Final Cut Pro is used by video professionals around the world for projects ranging from commercials to feature films.
