Apple Announced last week that their popular ibook is being replaced with the new Intel powered MacBook. So, soon there will no longer be ibooks available in stores or online to purchase. If you were thinking about making an ibook purchase, here's what this change means to you: MacBook is where it's atApple will only be selling MacBooks on their website. No more ibooks. The good news is, that ibooks will probably be on clearance at almost every authorized Mac retailer. You will also probably see tons of them start to show up on eBay and half.com, so if you want one, you can probably get one...cheap. 13" screensThe MacBooks all have 13" screens Faster SystemThe new MacBooks run over five times faster than their G4 ibook predecessors. CheapOk, so they may not be "cheap" but the new MacBooks start at$1099, which makes them the cheap-est Mac laptop ever sold. Something to take note of is that the MacBook and MacBook Pro are different systems. When I first saw the release from apple I thought that the new MacBooks were going to make it possible to run Final Cut Pro on a $1000 computer. That unfortunately is not the case. While the Intel MacBooks are faster and more powerful than their iBook forefathers, you will still need a Pro system for Final Cut.
